What happens when your kids sit between you and your husband in the theatre and you REALLY want to discuss the film with someone but that someone is SEATS away.
So you pretend you are Addy and are with Daniel as your daughter is practically standing on her head because imagining is the only thing stopping you from killing her.
Unedited and Unbeta'd so forgive me for errors :)
It was a great movie and Jack was happy that everyone had agreed to go, even Vala, who seemed to really like that romantic sappy crap that Sam always suggested. He'd managed to sell the two of them on the film simply with the premise that Spock was with Uhura.
Whatever, it worked.
The entire group came, easily taking up the rather small row of the theatre, as they opted to head to a small town Maryland, the furthest the metro would go, rather than fight the D.C. crowds on a Friday night. He sat on the very end, Teal'c to his right, Sam opting to sit with Vala to discuss the romance. Be that way, he had thought, I'll sit here with Teal'c and enjoy the explosions. Cam sat down beside Vala, Addy beside him with Daniel capping off the other end. Of course Daniel and Addy were at the end because Daniel and Addy were inseparable. But they weren't together, no, no, Daniel denied that on a daily basis. Ergo, Jack assumed he was either lying or completely blind.
So there they were, Teal'c debating when he could slip out and get more popcorn when the climax of the movie came, it's beginning obvious by the ominous music. Jack sat forward in his seat, Teal'c quickly disregarding the popcorn as Scotty and Kirk ran through the ship to restore the warp core. It had to be manually set, of course it had to be manually set, when did something ever NOT have to be manually set and as the true hero Kirk declared he would be the one to do it and sacrifice his life.
Through radiation.
Shit...
Nearly dropping his drink, Jack leaned over Teal'c, past his wife and friends, all the way to the end of the row where the look on good 'ole Dr. Perky's face in the glow of the screen was what he was certain his was as her head slowly turned to look at Daniel. Jack had no clue as to whether or not Daniel had ever seen the originals, unless Addy had made him probably not, but he sure as hell knew the great holed nerd had...
"Spock, you need to get down to engineering. NOW!"
Time had sped by as Jack was darting his glance between the screen and his friend, noting too that his fearless assistant was doing the same. It seemed they were reversing the original, that Kirk was gonna die of radiation poisoning now Spock but that didn't matter, what mattered was that the gigantic blaring screen in front of them was playing out the past for Daniel...

Daniel was determined to talk through every movie they would ever watch together, that was just something Adrienne had resigned herself to understanding. The entire ride over in Cam's truck he was prodding her for information, what had happened in the originals and she vaguely remembered reading something online about Khan. She eagerly explained to him the entire Chekov/brainworm experience with glee, Daniel giving her his normal frown. What she had forgotten was this part. She should have remembered that The Search for Spock was the third in the series, meaning Spock had to die in the second film, but she hadn't, she just hadn't, and now as she watched Kirk dash through a doorway marked radiation her stomach sank.
"Ad?" he whispered, the Cajun in question taking a breath.
"Yea?"
"What's gonna happen?"
"I don't know Indy," she lied, of course she knew, how could she have been so stupid...
Daniel didn't say a word, adjusting in his seat, closer to her it seemed and she wanted to reach out her hand to comfort him but friends don't do that, that's weird, why do I want to hold his hand????
Kirk was climbing, but slower, moving around the chamber desperately as Daniel adjusted nervously in his seat. The character kicked and kicked the device and as in all good films it worked, the ship powering to life.
"He's gonna die," Daniel whispered again, nerves in his voice that he was trying to hide.
"You don't know that," she scolded, trying to tease.
"Yes I do," there was no playfulness in the response, Adrienne trying not to take a breath.
Oh no Daniel, please hold it together...
And then Scotty was calling to the bridge and Spock was running and the men met shaking their head slowly.
"Don't lie to him, he knew what he was doing..." Daniel muttered to no one in particular, adjusting again in his seat.
To be honest, Adrienne was no longer paying attention to what was being said, her gaze locked on Daniel's face, frozen, staring at the screen in sheer horror. Why hadn't she looked it up; why didn't she check things like this better with him??
"It hurts, they're talking about feelings but it just hurts..." was what Adrienne was able to make out of his near silent mutterings as a tear escaped his eye, racing down his cheek, "everywhere hurts..."
She felt all eyes on them, each and every member of SG-1 knowing exactly what was happening at the end of the row. There is decorum, she debated, there are rules that have to be followed, even if you have this crazy confusing relationship with your 'boss/best friend/might as well be your boyfriend but he's not' man sitting beside her.
Oh fuck it, he needed her.
She stood, scooting past her soda cup, pushing his back where he was leaning forward in the seat, taking a seat of her own in his lap. She'd thought he would notice, but he didn't say a thing, complying as another droplet plummeted down his face. Turning her body and not caring that they were in a public place among their friends, Adrienne reached out, pulling him to her and wrapping her arms around his broad shoulders.
"Don't watch Daniel," she whispered, pulling his head down onto her shoulder, "I want you to think about how you creamed the shit out of me last weekend in chess."
"Because you're terrible at it," he answered, going with her request. It wasn't that she thought he was stupid, she knew that he knew exactly what she was doing and she could tell by the way he had wrapped his arms around her, holding tightly.
"About as bad as you are at Scrabble MISTER linguist," she teased.
"Scrabble is not about spelling, it is about strategy, and I am a pacifist."

She was in his lap.
"You have got to be kidding me," Jack moaned as she sat back in his seat, no longer worried about his good buddy. Clearly, that cute redneck thing that Sam had hired for him had everything under control.
"AdrienneRowan seems to be taking care of the situation O'Neill," Teal'c noted as well, Jack rolling his eyes in the dark.
"Ya think?"
"It is a shame that they are both so wounded as a match between then would be an excellent pairing," the Jaffa added.
Jack was about to say something smart and stopped, peering over once more at the pair. Daniel clearly had a tear streak on his face but he was smiling, whispering something on the woman's ear.
They were perfect for one another.
And Daniel was stupid.
This is a blog for my original short stories I wrote to give my favorite character of all time a happy ending. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them!
About this page
I am a late comer on this ship, I know. I pretty much was turned onto Stargate when I was injured (for my own stupidity I assure you) and I took to the Netflix to find something to occupy myself. I discovered that one of my favorite movies of all time had been made into a TV show, so I started to watch. And fell in love. With Daniel Jackson. Madly. Not just Michael Shanks (although I am fairly certain that he is a Grecian God - oh dear lord....) but the character himself. Then came seasons 9 and 10 and I was just upset by the whole thing. I love Claudia Black and the scenes were fun, but really? Her? That is what they decided he would end up with? Ugh. I mean really, what would they talk about, ever? So, I made him someone. This is your warning. This is sorta a Mary Sue. Sorta because a Mary Sue is Ms. Perfect and while Adrienne seems perfect at first she is NOT. By a stretch. She needs someone like him as bad as he needed someone like her. This is their love story.
Tears are streaming.
