About this page

I am a late comer on this ship, I know. I pretty much was turned onto Stargate when I was injured (for my own stupidity I assure you) and I took to the Netflix to find something to occupy myself. I discovered that one of my favorite movies of all time had been made into a TV show, so I started to watch. And fell in love. With Daniel Jackson. Madly. Not just Michael Shanks (although I am fairly certain that he is a Grecian God - oh dear lord....) but the character himself. Then came seasons 9 and 10 and I was just upset by the whole thing. I love Claudia Black and the scenes were fun, but really? Her? That is what they decided he would end up with? Ugh. I mean really, what would they talk about, ever? So, I made him someone. This is your warning. This is sorta a Mary Sue. Sorta because a Mary Sue is Ms. Perfect and while Adrienne seems perfect at first she is NOT. By a stretch. She needs someone like him as bad as he needed someone like her. This is their love story.

Getting there - part 2

He was standing at his bookshelf, scanning, he knew he had left it somewhere when he heard his door open making him peer over his shoulder.

"I thought you had to work with Rodney tonight," he noted as Adrienne tossed her backpack onto the chair, powering straight for him.

"Yep, I did," and she was at him, reaching for his hips. Frowning, Daniel disregarded the books, turning to grab her shoulders and make sure she was ok.

"Not so good?" he asked, Adrienne's fingers at his waistband.

"Nope, it was great actually," and she had undone the top button, her fingers at his zipper.

What was she doing??

“Ad? I...”

“Less talk, more kissing, I’m getting over this...NOW.”

He didn’t need to be told twice, if she was ready, finally ready, he wasn’t about to stop her. Lips pressed against hers, he kissed her feverishly because he wanted the same, he wanted to whisk her away to his bed and make love to her so badly. Their tongues danced and he sucked in air as she reached into the front of his jeans, squeezing the swell that was growing there.

“Oh god...” he breathed out, it had been so long and couldn’t keep kissing her the way she was touching him. She was curious and experienced all at once, exploring tenderly as she giggled at his lips.

“I’m not flinching...”

“I see that...”

“Bedroom?” she asked, Daniel nodding quickly.

“Please...”

Smiling, she pulled her hand from where he didn’t want it to escape, skimming her fingers to his belt loop to lead him along, his heart pounding in his chest. This is happening, he thought, this is really happening, following, wanting nothing more than to hold her in his arms. She was there, they were there, so quickly, kissing, hands wandering, Daniel laying her back gently, his lips at her neck, Adrienne hissing in as she pushed his jeans down from his waist.

“Are you sure?” he asked as he reached her shirt, reaching for the hem to pull it from her head.

“Yeah,” and the look in her eyes seemed to support her words. Kissing her forehead lightly, Daniel pushed himself up, his left hand reaching for his nightstand drawer.

“What are you doing?” she asked, propping herself on her elbows. Raising his eyebrows, he bit his lip, flashing a small packet at her.

“We’re gonna need this and I’m not gonna wanna waste time searching for it,” he said, setting the condom on the nightstand as he reached to pull off his shirt. He was smiling as he tossed it aside, looking back down at her to see that she just...wasn’t...

“Ad,” he asked, sitting back on his knees, “you ok?”

“Yeah,” she lied, he would read her like a book, and she didn’t even need to draw her knees to her chest like she was starting to do.

“What did I do?” he asked worried, watching her eyes dart around, looking at everything but him.

Sighing, she reached over on the nightstand, taking the item into her fingers.

“Made it real,” she admitted slowly, “I can’t. The moment you...” she started to stammer, “I’ll freak out, I know it, I’ll just freak out.”

And then she started to cry.

Kicking the rest of his jeans to the floor, Daniel hopped up from the bed, walking around and crawling behind her, pulling her into his arms.

“Stop, Ad, just stop, it’s ok...”

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I told you that I couldn’t be what you wanted, I just...”

He held her, kissing her head, rocking her gently.

“You’re exactly what I want, everything I ever wanted.”

“But you have...”

Daniel shook his head, holding her impossibly closer.

“To be safe because I didn’t think we were ready to be parents yet, do you?”

Adrienne shook her head.

“But you aren’t ready,” he kissed her again, nuzzling her ear, “and that’s fine. Goes back in the drawer.”

She bit her lip, leaning back into him.

“I love you Daniel, I’m sorry,” she was trembling in his arms, “I just don’t know if I’ll ever...”

“Stop,” he whispered softly, “so you had a good evening?”

Adrienne nodded.

“What do you want for dinner?”

“I don’t care,” she muttered, Daniel reaching back for the nightstand. Dark ebony eyes watching him, he tossed the packet back into the drawer, closing it and grabbing his phone, bringing the gadget to his ear.

“Hi, I’d like to place an order for delivery,” he requested, not letting go of her for a moment, because regardless of anything that had just happened, right now, right at this second, he had all that he wanted.

The next morning

I have a thing with intimacy, so I hope this doesn't offend....

Adrienne leaned over the sink, peering into the mirror as Daniel entered in behind her.

“We don’t have anything until noon, since we just got back; did you want to go out and get real food for breakfast?” he asked. Adrienne shrugged turning around to see him pulling his boxer briefs downward slightly, turn his back to her and...

“What are you doing???”

“Peeing,” he answered like it was the most normal thing in the world.

“But I’m right here??!?!”

“So,” and he just kept on going.

She was gonna die.

“But, it’s not decent...”

“Really Ad, after last night,” he peered over his shoulder.

“That was different,” she shot quickly.

“How exactly?”

How is he not finished???

“It’s a bodily function.”

“And so is making love,” he answered, reaching to do exactly what Adrienne knew but turned her back to him nonetheless.

“But it’s different...”

“Again, how,” and he was pushing her out of the way with his hips, thankfully covered, reaching to wash his hands.

“It just is.”

“Alright, so just let me get this straight,” he said as he scrubbed laughing, “you’ve seen me naked, I’ve seen you naked, we’ve seen one another  - “

“Don’t say that word.”

“What word?”

“That word you were gonna say.”

Daniel laughed.

“How did you know what I was gonna say?”

“Never mind,” she grumbled, jumping up onto the counter. Chuckling, he dried his hands,  walking over and grabbing her knees, spreading her legs to slip between them.

“I won’t pee in front of you if it bothers you that badly,” he said, kissing her nose, “I’m just comfortable, even more so now. Is there anything else that I need to know bothers you?”

Adrienne blushed.

“I’m kinda scared about showering together,” she admitted.

“So, you think that last night just opened up the flood gates of everything. That once was a magic fix all?”

“No...”

He kissed her again softly.

“I didn’t think so,” he said as he reached behind her neck, touching their foreheads, “it’ll take time and we don’t have to do anything that you don’t want to do. Ever. I’m just honored that you trust me as much as you do.”

Adrienne looked away, embarrassed again for a moment before taking a breath, pushing Daniel away and hopping from the counter.

“Breakfast?” he asked again, walking for the door as she caught his hand.

“Sure, I just need a shower first,” she said, pulling the t-shirt over her head, “wanna join me?”

“Only if you want me to,” he answered cautiously.

“I do, just take it slow...”

Daniel smiled, reaching to grab two towels to toss on the counter before pulling his underwear to the floor.

“How about I just wash your hair?”

“Ok,” she nodded with a grin, pulling back the curtain to start the water.

Another fun before they were together ficlet

Sorry I REALLY like the friendship ones...

Daniel saw her leaned over the laptop, headphones in her ears, noting today's selection sounded Asian.

He would NEVER understand his assistant's taste in music.

She was staring intently on a side section of the database, hands working the keys feverishly, her cursor much further along than he had anticipated. The woman worked so fast, she was so driven, it was really taking him getting used to to having her around.

And being her friend, because he really liked spending time with her.

He could talk to Adrienne like he really had never been able to talk to another person before, and she would listen, no judgmental looks or comments, just listen and offer a counter point if he wanted one and if he didn't just a hug and a glass of wine.

Right now he really didn't need her to do anything, he just wanted to talk.

Tease first, always worked.

Smiling he reached past her and into the small white bag of snack something that he was eating.

"Those are dried apples..."

Daniel made a face at the squishy food between his fingers. He knew it would be healthy, but why did she eat things that were just disgusting to look at or touch.

"I've learned the grosser it is, the less likely you are to steal it from me," she said, pulling the ear buds from her ears.

"Why is it that we are in a continual competition with one another? Out gross, out smart?" he joked, leaning against her desk.

"You feel threatened by an woman with a higher IQ than yours," she said with a wink, Daniel frowning.

"What's your IQ?"

Adrienne laughed.

"I have no idea, but just the idea nearly sent you over the edge."

"You're so awful to me," he joked because she was, in a way. She teased him like no one had really teased him before, well, except for Jack but with Adrienne it was different in a way that he couldn't explain.

"I know Indy, I need to detach from the desk and eat. I've gotta run five today anyway, so just let me get to a stopping point," she said, a finger at the screen indicating that she was nearly finished with her task.

"Yes, you do need to eat, I have still yet to see you consume real food that is not from a cantina, but that's not what I wanted to ask you about..." he trailed, feeling stupid already for bringing this up, but she has said he could talk to her about anything.

"What's up shug?" and the laptop was shoved away, her pencil down, her full attention on him and him alone.

"I wanted to know if I could ask you for advice, personal advice?"

It's not that personal you idiot, he thought, but Adrienne was deadly serious, standing to walk to the door to shut it.

"Of course Daniel, I told you, you can tell me anything," she answered as it clicked shut, walking back to the center table to take a seat, neutral ground he could tell. As good of an archaeologist and translator as she was, the better he got to know her the more he thought she should have been a counselor.

"It's, well, not that big of a deal..." he began, taking a seat as she frowned.

"If it wasn't you wouldn't be asking me like this."

"No," he clarified, feeling so stupid for even considering bringing it up, "you know how you can sleep anywhere. At any time?"

"Yeah..."

"I just wondered if there was a reason for it, like you have some sleep secret," he spat it out.

Adrienne wrinkled her pale nose in sheer confusion.

"That's it?"

"That's what?"

"That's the serious thing you needed advice about?"

"Yeah. What did you think I was gonna ask you?"

"About Vala..."

Daniel nearly choked on his own saliva.

"God no! That was over well before you set foot on this base, regardless of how she chooses to torment me."

"Ok," she was smiling, looking him up from head to toe, "you really just wanted to ask me about sleep?"

"Yeah, I just, well, don't. I've tried teas, vitamins, pills, everything and I just don't sleep," he explained, noting that she was finally taking him seriously.

"You COULD lay off the caffeine..."

Daniel frowned.

"Or not," she amended quickly, "how about no more after five?"

"Seven."

"Six Daniel," she countered, "this isn't a negotiation. You asked me for advice and I'm giving it."

"Fine," he pouted, "good-bye evening coffee."

"Have you tried a bath?"

"No, I don't like sitting in a tub of my own filth," he replied quickly, Adrienne now rolling her eyes.

"Because you get so dirty sitting on ya fool tchew in 'ere," she let the Cajun slip. Daniel chuckled, she sounded like some bad stereotypical TV character when she did that, his laughter stifled as she smacked his leg briskly.

"Fine," she contained herself, "how about a hot shower."

"I guess I could try," he said, "I tend to shower in the morning."

"Well, unless you sweat in your sleep it really doesn't matter," she was back into caretaker mode, "the hotter the better too, soothing, and then go straight to bed. And if tea is not working, believe it or not, either warm milk or a glass of red wine, either does the trick for me."

"You can't get to sleep?"

"Not always, I have - " she paused as if she was realizing something at the last minute, halting her words.

"What?"

"Nightmares," she choked out and stood, walking over to the mini-fridge.

"About what?" he pried, she was literally fleeing their conversation, yanking a bottle from the appliance and chugging down it's contents.

"Just, nightmares, ok?"

There was a look in her eyes, of sheer terror, and as much as his curiosity was burning inside of him, he knew he couldn't push her further.

"Ok," he agreed, changing the subject back to himself, "so, no more coffee after six, warm milk and hot shower."

"Start there, natural, you need to change your circadian rhythms," she was better in an instant, Daniel just nodding in agreement.

"Thanks Ad, I knew you'd have some all natural hippie organic solution," he joked, standing to return to his desk.

"I'm proud to be your personal health guru," she bowed, winking at him, "now if we can just get you off the sugar addiction.."

"Never," he replied quickly.

"Small battles in the greater war," and she was back at her desk, Daniel taking a seat at his own.

"Indy?" he heard her asking, noting she was looking right at him.

"Yeah?"

"Why don't you shower up and head over to my quarters. I'm crashing here tonight and was gonna watch some old monster movies," there were nerves in her voice, or were there, he could have been imagining things.

"They don't give you nightmares?" he ventured carefully, a smile in return.

"Lawd no," she laughed, thankfully, "Wolfman is just kinda ass kickin'"

"Ok, sounds like a plan. I'll even bring red wine."

She smiled, biting her lip and slipping her headphones into her ears, Daniel's stomach fluttering slightly as he returned to his work, his eyes at the clock on the desktop already counting down.

And a little afterwards...

Dialog only, you fill in the rest :D

I see that smile...

Am I not allowed to be proud of myself?

No, I’m just teasing. You should be.

Come back...

It’s cold, give me a sec.

I thought I was supposed to keep you warm...

Stop.

What?

Making me blush...

I like that I can do that too...

Yes, you can, just don't let your ego get too big.

Come back to bed.

I am, Mr. Needy, give me a sec.

I'm not needy. It's late and I sleep better with you close.

Me too.

You always smell so good...

It’s nothing fancy, just some incensy body spray, just smells clean to me.

Maybe that’s why I like it so much, simple, clean, you...

Can we just pause everything? Never let this end?

I’m sure there’s some sort of Ancient machine that can do that.

You wouldn’t though, even if you knew of one.

For you I might...

Don't say that.

I never thought this was possible. Feeling like this, any of this.

I didn't either.

We'd better sleep, I have at least three meetings tomorrow.

Four, one added late, so four.

Here after work then?

My place, you're out of red wine. And my bed is bigger.

I can buy more wine and do you realize how awful that second comment sounds?

I mean because now that you don't worry about throwing a leg over on me, I've learned you tend to spread, just like on your desk.

I do not.

Yes, you do. And I love it. Especially the leg part.

Leg it is. Goodnight Ad.

Goodnight Indy.

I love you.

I love you too.

Another damn ficlet...

Why was she here?

Granted, she had a key but he hadn't really expected her to use it if they were both on world at the same time...

"Ad?" he asked as he stepped into his utility room, his assistant not acknowledging his approach. Of course not, she was plugged in as usual, dancing to what sounded like pop music today.

"Hello Adrienne!!" he shouted as he yanked to earbuds from her ears, her left hand darting out to sock him in the stomach.

Dammit, that hurt.

When would he learn not to startle her??

"I saw ya cooyon, I was doing something," she replied without looking up, Daniel disregarding the nagging reminder of sneaking up on Adrienne to peer over her shoulder in curiosity.

"Laundry?"

"Yeah, I started it, your machine was full, I'll transfer it over as soon as it is finished spinning," she answered, swearing under her breath as she fiddled with some ceramic thing in her hands.

"I was kidding, assistant doesn't mean you do my laundry."

"Friend does, if it needs doing and said friend is killing himself with work," was her response, a slight smile at her lips.

"I made it to bed last night..." he defended as he leaned back against the washer, Adrienne finally peering over at him.

"Uh huh, after I put ice down your pants."

"Which was not funny..." it was, he lied, he just needed her to think he was mad until he could get her back.

"It was hilarious shug, Walter agrees," she said as she snapped the thing in her hands into place.

"Walter? There's video?" Great, just what he needed.

"Yep, of which I have the only copy left in existence, so I'm thinking you owe me about a month's worth of caramel lattes to ensure it's destruction."

That smile again.

Damn distracting Adrienne.

"Fine, whatever, destroy the evidence," he chuckled, focusing again on what she was doing, "what in the hell is that?"

"I had to play girl this morning," she explained, shoving the object into his face, something that plugged into the wall, "Tupperware party for smelly stuff. Anyway, I needed to make a showing, so I did, was the only person not buying anything because I have no need for that with my incense burners so I bought two for you."

"Really?"

"Yes really," she said, handing him the smaller object as she opened a second box.

"Why?"

Now she frowned.

"Because you're the closest thing I have to a boyfriend, as sad as that is."

Daniel rolled his eyes, not knowing what to say to that, at all.

"Oh good," but Adrienne had moved on, apparently, "this one's already put together."

Another thing that looked like a ceramic pot with an electrical cord was shoved into his hands.

"We'll put the big one in the living room and the small one in your bathroom," she declared, pale Cajun fingers now digging through a purple plastic bag.

"Yes ma'am."

"Good boy," she teased, opening a package in her hands, sniffing it before making a face and digging again.

"What's that?" he asked as she pulled up a second one.

"The things that smell good, wax cubes," she sniffed this one now, smiling and nodding, turning the package to his face.

"This, this is Daniel smell," she declared. Shrugging he sniffed in, making a face in confusion.

"I have a smell?"

"Yes, not this, you smell, but, no, I mean, never mind," she started to stammer, flustered, why was she flustered, "I mean it suits your home, makes it clean and comfortable."

"If you say so," he replied, surprised at her reaction. Why was she flustered? Was she getting red in teh cheeks?

"Do you like it?"

"Yeah," he forced the thoughts away, Jack is not right, NOT right, "it's nice."

"Ok, I'll go set them up," and in an instant his hands were cleared and she was pushing past him, her own scent floating around him: myrrh.

"Stop it, Jack's not right, just stop..." he muttered under his breath, trying not to think about how good she smelled as he followed her into his living room.

Daniel & Addy dialog: Don't tell

There was a knock at the door, making Adrienne look up from her book.

"Come in," she shouted, she knew who it was this time of the night. There were some buttons and a click, the door opening and Daniel stepping through.

"Hey..."

She smiled, hoping to make this less awkward even though her heart was already hurting.

"Can't sleep?"

"No..."

"Lose the shoes," she said without hesitation, tossing aside the book and pulling back the blankets.

"Ad, I just..."

"Wanted to talk, I know," she tried to make this easier on him even if it was going to kill her, "but it's nearly one and I wanted to sleep."

"I'll go."

She shook her head.

"Get in."

"This was stupid, I'll - "

"Get in," she repeated, "just no shoes."

She watched for a second as he smiled softly, toeing off his boots while she reached for the light. Fingers reached the switch before Adrienne looked back up at him, her heart breaking.

"I have some sweats in the top drawer if you wanna change, they're too big, bought them that way on purpose."

There seemed to be a tinge of red in his cheeks as he did what she was suggesting, rummaging through her top drawer to grab that gray pair of pants that she never wore anymore, taking them to the bathroom.

He was out in a flash, tossing his BDU pants over her desk chair before climbing into the bed with her. Without a word, he rolled over, turning his back on her, his best friend, shutting out the light for her.

"You ok Indy?"

"Yeah."

"Nightmares?"

"Yeah."

"Kasuf?" she ventured once more, knowing the answer before it crosses his handsome lips.

"Yeah."

Swallowing hard, Adrienne reaching forward, wrapping her arm around his waist and holding him close.

"Go to sleep Daniel," she whispered as she felt his fingers intertwine with hers.

Blurred Lines - Daniel Jackson

Ok, so everyone is getting all up in arms about this song, but this is how I look at it personally. Music is art. The artist may have thought A but it inspired B. Visual art works the same. When I heard this song, I didn't think sexism or treating women poorly, I saw poor Daniel, trying to convince himself to talk to Adrienne, cursing his stupid thoughts as he went through his work day.

Here is how I see it!

"Blurred Lines"
(feat. T.I. & Pharrell Williams)

[Intro: Pharrell]
Everybody get up
Everybody get up
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

[Verse 1: Robin Thicke]
If you can't hear what I'm trying to say
(Daniel trying to talk to Addy over her music)
If you can't read from the same page
(Daniel and Addy going over translation at center table - him teaching her Ancient)
Maybe I'm going deaf,
(Daniel starting to think she is showing interest)
Maybe I'm going blind
(Daniel seeing her looking over at him)
Maybe I'm out of my mind
(Addy leaves with Cam and Ronon, Daniel head-desk)
[Pharell:] Everybody get up

[Pre-chorus: Robin Thicke]
OK now he was close, tried to domesticate you
(Ronon comes in, but Daniel remembers night she came to his apartment)
But you're an animal, baby, it's in your nature
(Addy fighting the big boys, Daniel trying NOT to stare)
Just let me liberate you
(I can be what you want)
Hey, hey, hey
You don't need no papers
(Daniel thinking military awards like Cam has)
Hey, hey, hey
That man is not your maker
(Adrienne having a super-feminist talk with Daniel)

[Chorus: Robin Thicke]
And that's why I'm gon' take a good girl
(He thinks because HE really know Addy, better than the others)
I know you want it
(These next few are Daniel convincing himself that she feels the same)
I know you want it
I know you want it
You're a good girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
(Here he is thinking of her organic food obsession)
Talk about getting blasted
(And here Monty Python shots)
I hate these blurred lines
(Because she is his assistant)
I know you want it
(Back to telling himself he can do this, she wants this...)
I know you want it
I know you want it
But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
(Addy jumping and hugging Daniel)
Must wanna get nasty
(Daniel thinking he is a complete idiot; the nasty is like you are STUPID, she's NOT like that)
Go ahead, get at me
[Pharell:] Everybody get up

[Verse 2: Robin Thicke]
What do they make dreams for
When you got them jeans on
(Addy shows up at the bar Jack has dragged him to with her friends and his jaw drops)
What do we need steam for
You the hottest bitch in this place
(And now Addy is dancing and he just wants to throw her back and kiss her or escape)
I feel so lucky
Hey, hey, hey
You wanna hug me
(She comes to the table and hugs him hello)
Hey, hey, hey
What rhymes with hug me?
(Things you will NEVER get you idiot, why are you thinking this about ADRIENNE??)
Hey, hey, hey

[Pre-chorus: Robin Thicke]
OK now he was close, tried to domesticate you
(Ronon comes in, but Daniel remembers night she came to his apartment)
But you're an animal, baby, it's in your nature
(Addy fighting the big boys, Daniel trying NOT to stare)
Just let me liberate you
(I can be what you want)
Hey, hey, hey
You don't need no papers
(Daniel thinking military awards like Cam has)
Hey, hey, hey
That man is not your maker
(Adrienne having a super-feminist talk with Daniel)

[Chorus: Robin Thicke]
And that's why I'm gon' take a good girl
(He thinks because HE really know Addy, better than the others)
I know you want it
(These next few are Daniel convincing himself that she feels the same)
I know you want it
I know you want it
You're a good girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
(Here he is thinking of her organic food obsession)
Talk about getting blasted
(And here Monty Python shots)
I hate these blurred lines
(Because she is his assistant)
I know you want it
(Back to telling himself he can do this, she wants this...)
I know you want it
I know you want it
But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
(Addy jumping and hugging Daniel)
Must wanna get nasty
(Daniel thinking he is a complete idiot; the nasty is like you are STUPID, she's NOT like that)
Go ahead, get at me

[Verse 3: T.I.]
One thing I ask of you
Let me be the one you back that ass to
(Stands up at bar where she is dancing heads that direction)
Go, from Malibu, to Paris, boo
(And nope, changes direction awkwardly to walk to bathroom)
Yeah, I had a bitch, but she ain't bad as you
So hit me up when you passing through
I'll give you something big enough to tear your ass in two
(All of this in bathroom, feeling SOO guilty for having these thoughts about her, it's wrong, STOP THINKING LIKE THIS)
Swag on, even when you dress casual
I mean it's almost unbearable
(Visions of yoga pants, he has to get out of here)
Then, honey you're not there when I'm
With my foresight bitch you pay me by
Nothing like your last guy, he too square for you
(Thinking what Addy said about Joshua, Daniel thinks I am so much better than that)
He don't smack that ass and pull your hair like that
(Leaving bathroom, confidence, swagger, stupid fantasies)
So I just watch and wait for you to salute
But you didn't pick
(And Addy is dancing with Ronon)
Not many women can refuse this pimpin'
(Why can't I even LOOK at her when she's dancing - UGH)
I'm a nice guy, but don't get it if you get with me
(I think that line kinda speaks for itself...)

[Bridge: Robin Thicke]
Shake the vibe, get down, get up
Do it like it hurt, like it hurt
What you don't like work?
(Again, I see this as dancing, up and down as low to the floor and the don't like work is Daniel cursing himself for HIM not making the effort to just go out there, sitting back at the table with Jack)

[Pre-chorus: Robin Thicke]
Baby can you breathe? I got this from Jamaica
(Lab next morning, let's pull out a cool artifact she will squee over)
It always works for me, Dakota to Decatur, uh huh
No more pretending
(I'm gonna tell her)
Hey, hey, hey
Cause now you winning
(I can do this)
Hey, hey, hey
Here's our beginning
(Reaches out to touch her arm)
[Chorus: Robin Thicke]
I always wanted a good girl
(He is fantasizing that she leaps into his arms)
(Pharell: Everybody get up)
(He's showing her artifact, she looked excited, he is talking himself up)
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it
You're a good girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
(Here he is thinking of her organic food obsession)
Talk about getting blasted
(And here Monty Python shots)
I hate these blurred lines
(AND HE CAN'T)
I know you want it
(Back to telling himself he can do this, she wants this...)
I know you want it
I know you want it
But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
(Addy jumping and hugging Daniel)
Must wanna get nasty
(Daniel thinking he is a complete idiot; the nasty is like you are STUPID, she's NOT like that)
Go ahead, get at me

[Outro: Pharrell]
Everybody get up
Everybody get up
(And Daniel sits back down. He gives up. She will never love him)
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

Getting there - part 1

One of the things in the Surprise Package storyline that bothered me was how Addy went from "I can never be with a man again" to she and Daniel being quite active. So, I decided to go back in and fill in a bit...

It had been the hotel and the close call that made her realize.

She could do this.

It was gonna take time, he was going to have to be patient with her but she wanted to try.

Adrienne Rowan wanted to make love to Daniel Jackson, she just had to get the nerve to do it.

He had been discharged yesterday, Adrienne driving him home and no one questioning. Their friends might not know that they were, together, well in name at least, but they knew they were very close and it was almost assumed that she would be the one to take him to his apartment.

“I’ve got it,” he pushed her away, intent on walking himself, but there was pain at his side still. She stepped back just long enough for him to grimace, reaching out for her again.

“Or not...”

“That’s my job Indy, that’s what you do when you love someone. You help them,” she said with a smile, Daniel taking her arm and wrapping it around himself.

“Does that also mean I can get a foot rub?” he teased, winking, as Adrienne reached into his pocket for the keys shaking her head.

“If I must...”

“Nah, I’m really ticklish,” he answered, letting her guide him from the car to the elevator door, “which I probably shouldn’t have told you.”

“Probably not,” she said, pressing the button for his floor to reach out and hold him again.

“Can you stay tonight?” his question was somewhat sheepish making her smile and reach out running her fingers through his hair.

“Of course I can, as long as I get to cuddle up to you,” she answered, leaning in to kiss his head.

“I was hoping, that’s why I asked.”
The door opened before she could reply, falling right into caretaker mode, guiding him to the door, opening the lock and leading him straight to the bedroom. He flopped down on the bed, not even bothering to change, his hand at his head.

“You ok Indy?”

“Just tired, my body doesn’t do well with pain meds, they knock me out,” he answered, reaching to unbutton his jeans and pull them to his ankles, pausing and looking over.

“This ok?”

“Yeah,” she answered, glad she was in yoga pants herself, “thanks for asking.”

Nodding, he pulled the pants off, throwing them in the hamper in the corner, peeling off his socks to follow. He moved slowly, clearly annoyed by his lack of mobility, finally slipping under the covers as Adrienne pulled her bra through her sleeve.

“Come here,” he requested, playfully pouting, reaching out his arms for her. She couldn’t help but smile, crawling into his bed, stopping short of laying on his chest.

“No?” he asked but she just touched his bandage lightly with her finger, shaking her head.

“You’re still hurt, I don’t wanna make it worse,” she whispered, honestly, but he just smiled, extending his arms for her again.

“Holding you makes it better, always,” he answered so sweetly Adrienne couldn’t help but comply, curling against his body.

“You scared me,” she muttered.

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s not your fault,” she said quietly, “I knew what I was getting in to.”

“A mess,” he laughed, Adrienne giggling as well.

“Something like that,” she uttered, pecking his chest softly, “I wanna try.”

To have the words cross her lips, she was shocked, scared, her heart beating so loudly that she was certain he could feel it.

“Try what?”

Of course he couldn’t read her mind; for all of the times that he could, he couldn’t now...

“Try to be, physical,” she choked out the last word, “I don’t know if I can, but I wanna try...”

“Adrienne,” he was sitting up looking down at her, “we’ve talked about this and I understand...”

“No,” she said, swallowing and taking a breath, “You don’t. That was taken from me, without my permission and I want to take it back.”

Daniel breathed in, Adrienne making a face in embarrassment. Dear God, she thought, I am asking Daniel for sex, what in the hell is wrong with me?

“Ok,” he said, taking her hand, “as long as this is for you and not me, ok.”

Swallowing again, Adrienne leaned forward, placing her hand on his cheek, kissing him so slowly, tasting the coffee he had been drinking on the way over. She felt him shift, not pulling away, just leading her to lay on him, running his fingers through her hair. Careful of his wound, she let him, positioning her torso over his as she let him slip his tongue into her mouth. That feeling hit her, and she realized that she wanted him, badly, her hand starting to guide itself down his side, lower where she wanted to explore, where she wanted to touch, her hand brushing the hardness ever so lightly as he kissed her deeply, his hands all over her back when she froze.

“I can’t.”

“It’s ok,” and he was removing his lips from hers, moving her to hold her the best he could in his arms, “are you glad you tried?”

She nodded into his chest.

“I’m sorry,” she felt bad, felt like she was leading him on but he shook his head.

“Never apologize for that Ad, never,” he said kissing her forehead, “let’s put on some True Blood.”

Hoping he didn’t see the tears in her eyes, she reached for the remote from his nightstand, passing it to him and cuddling back down against his chest, trying to talk reason into her pounding heart.

Daniel & Addy ficlet - road trip

Damn you Karen, because now I am writing these down.

"Get up Ad, we have to leave."

Daniel watched as Adrienne pulled the blanket over her head, curling into a ball. He should have sent Vala, Cam, Teal'c anyone because in his time working with his assistant now best friend he should have learned that waking her up before she wanted to be up as a non-option.

"No."

"Ad, come on. You can sleep in the van."

"No, we have beaming technology, why are we doing this again?"

She had a point, and beaming from the ships didn't drain what was left of their pitiful ZPMs but nonetheless the IOA just didn't allow it for pleasure trips and barely allowed it for important things like Area 51 visits.

"Cuz dey be a bunch ah gawd damn tchews," he answered in the best Cajun accent he could, laughter emanating from under the blanket before it was pulled back.

"I'm only getting up because you swore in Cajun. Only. And I reserve the right to throw this up in your face at any needed point in the future," the pale face teased from the bed.

"I brought you coffee," he said, handing it over, knowing she didn't need to shower. She showered at night usually he knew, which was a sad fact that he knew that, but he shrugged it off passing the thermal mug over.

"Hazelnut creamer?"

"Yep."

"Fat free?"

"Yep."

"Organic sugar substitute?"

"Is there any other?" he joked as she finally took it, sipping, no gulping it down, handing him back over a considerably lighter cup.

"I'm gonna marry you someday if you don't watch it," she said with a smile, crawling back under the covers.

"Ad...."

"I'm up," and suddenly she was, having slept, it seemed, in yoga pants and a sport bra, pulling a tank top over her head, a small blanket under her arm.

"Can you get my suitcase? It takes me a few paces to walk straight."

Daniel shook his head.

"The things I do for you..."

*****

Because of course Daniel and that little girl of his had to crawl into the back together...

Jack adjusted the mirror, glancing at his friends, all of which seemed ready to hit the road and go, all except for that damn little perky archaeologist, who was laying down in the back across Daniel.

"What and the hell is it with him and women??" Jack moaned, Sam peeking back to see what her husband was fussing about.

"Addy?"

"Yes Addy."

"She's not a morning person."

Jack grumbled, rolling his eyes and peering back in the mirror.

"Daniel, let's keep that back seat making out to a minimum ok?"

Frowning Daniel pointed down at Adrienne, who with a turn of the mirror Jack could see, was covered in a small blanket, a pillow in Daniel's lap.

"She already asleep," he replied as he shook his head and relaxed.

"Whatever," Jack grumbled a bit longer, pushing the gear stick into reverse.

Daniel & Addy dialog :) Just for Hannah "What ARE we??"

Hey.

Hey Indy.

What are you doing?

Watching True Blood. I'm a few weeks behind.

Ahh, see, I was wondering if that was it but there was no drool dribbling down your chin.

Cooyon.

Whatever, then no wine for you.

You brought wine?

Of course. What kind of boyfriend do you take me for?

Boyfriend?

Yeah...unless I missed something.

I just hate that word. It seems so juvenile.

Ok, what do you suggest then?

I don't know...companion?

Well that doesn't make me feel special. How about lover?

While I love, well, that Indy, that statement alone reduces our relationship to a status of physical intimacy alone and I think that...

Fine, no lover, noted. What about sweetheart?

We're not 12.

Beau?

Closer...

Suitor?

Not 1852. And you are not trying to win me from my father.

And I've already won, so that really doesn't work.

Damn tchew.

Kidding ja-wer, kidding. What do you call it in Cajun?

Boo.

Like as in a ghost.

No, as in you are my boo.

No, that is what a child in a sheet says when they jump out at you.

You don't seem to mind sha.

And you like ja-wer.

Is there something Egyptian? Ancient?

The former has to do with, well, Ha-

I get it, Ancient? Amor, amator?

Nah, that's just too, not us. Too sappy.

So, we're not sappy?

No, Ad, this isn't well. You're my equal, my parter, my soul mate.

Awww....Daniel....see you give Eric a run for his money the longer I hang around here.

Yep, and my entire relationship is based on my competing with a fictional vampire. But we're sappy...

Hush...Eric's on.

So, what have we decided? Other than I am the wine bringer.

Boyfriend.

What?

Boyfriend, for the wine.

And not with wine.

Lover after Eric is off screen. Now hush.

Yes ma'am.

Daniel & Addy ficlet

He coded into her room, his nose stuck in a folder as he entered.

"Ad, can you look at this again, I don't think Rodney was even close..."

"Sure, can you shut the door though," she answered, Daniel nodding and doing as she asked.

"Yeah, if you look here," he started, walking over to her when he paused, finally looking at her.

She was naked, completely naked, digging though a pile of laundry.

"Ad!!!" he shouted, turning away, the folder in his face.

"What?"

"You're naked!!"

"Then ask before you barge in, these are my quarters, I am allowed to be nekked in them," she shot, grabbing something from the pile he caught out of the corner of his eye.

Don't look Daniel, don't look.

Ok, just to see if she had thrown a t-shirt on.

Nope, she's putting on underwear, dear god they are lace thong underwear.

Stop looking...

"You can chill out Indy," she continued, "I've been in locker rooms, mixed ones at that. It's no big deal, I'm not Vala."

Oh no, no, no, no, no....Vala is thin and beautiful but Ad, you're just strong...

"It's weirder when you don't say something shug."

Dear god Adrienne please just lay down on that bed right now, how about I say that?

"Lawd Daniel, I have on a bra now, you can turn around."

You are still in a thong and dear god, no, no not now, not standing right here.

"Sorry to barge in, really," he turned back to face her, her back to him, her curved backside pointed right at him, "I'll call next time."

Put that folder down you idiot and walk over there and just...

"I'll just leave this here, ok, just when you're dressed, text me and I can meet you in the lab."

She laughed.

"Ok shug, whatever you say."

And with that Daniel reached behind himself, trying not to fumble with the door as he made his exit.

Cold shower, right now...
