About this page

I am a late comer on this ship, I know. I pretty much was turned onto Stargate when I was injured (for my own stupidity I assure you) and I took to the Netflix to find something to occupy myself. I discovered that one of my favorite movies of all time had been made into a TV show, so I started to watch. And fell in love. With Daniel Jackson. Madly. Not just Michael Shanks (although I am fairly certain that he is a Grecian God - oh dear lord....) but the character himself. Then came seasons 9 and 10 and I was just upset by the whole thing. I love Claudia Black and the scenes were fun, but really? Her? That is what they decided he would end up with? Ugh. I mean really, what would they talk about, ever? So, I made him someone. This is your warning. This is sorta a Mary Sue. Sorta because a Mary Sue is Ms. Perfect and while Adrienne seems perfect at first she is NOT. By a stretch. She needs someone like him as bad as he needed someone like her. This is their love story.

Her Problem

Hey Ad, you're still up.

Yeah, got sucked into some show...

Must be good, I'm not even getting eye contact.

*peeks up* Better?

Never when it's forced.

You can join me shug, if ya want.

Genre?

Fantasy Horror.

Do you watch anything else?

Star Wars.

Forget I asked.

*sits behind her on bed, peering over her shoulder*

For someone that never liked pop culture you sure are interested in what I like.

I find it fascinating, it's as if I have discovered a new species of human.

You be lucky right now that that pillow is too far for me to reach coo yon.

*laughs* So what is it?

It's called Hemlock Grove.

Ok, plot...

Not sure yet, but it's about a gypsy werewolf that is being accused of a series of murders.

A gypsy werewolf?

I can feel the face you're making at me and if you make that face again I will be sure to have a very violent bout of illness when the next IOA meeting comes up.

What's with that guy cutting himself?

Not sure yet but... *Adrienne pauses*

Him?

What?

You think THAT is hot?

So...

Your tastes in men never cease to amaze me. How OLD is he?

On the show or in real life?

Do I wanna know the answer to either?

Probably not.

*Daniel shakes his head*

He's a Skarsgard *Adrienne smiles*

As in Alexander?

As in little Alexander, but yes, they're brothers.

I don't see it.

Because you have no taste.

And I prefer women, but as you will. So, this is your latest.

Not my latest per se, but I really wanna know what the Swedes are doing to grow men like this...

AD!!!

I want that for Christmas. A calendar of Skarsgard men.

Ask Vala, I think I need to get you some decent documentaries.

Cooyon.

You have a problem Ad. A Skarsgard problem.

And I have NO shame in that shug, no shame...

A Morning Whine

Dialog that I will maybe use later in official CBW but I thought you guys would enjoy!

Come on Ad, get up.

No, can't we stay in bed?

We have work to do, wake up.

I prefer here...

*laughs*

Honestly so do I, but there are these jobs we have...

Shut up Indy, I know. But it's warmer here...

If you must we can turn up the heat in the lab.

It's comfy here...

I got you that chair you were going on and on about.

I can stay in my pajamas here...

Since we got together you have managed to come to work in 99% yoga pants, that's not valid.

You're here...

I'm at the lab to, don't make me get a cup of water.

Naked...

*rolls eyes*

Stop trying to lure me back to bed.

Is it working? You naked...me naked...

Stop Adrienne. That's evil.

Under the covers...

*gets back in bed*

Fine, we don't have any meetings today. We can stall.

*pulls up covers*

Happy Thanksgiving

Oh my gawd look at this one!

Dammit Ad, put those away!

Sam has BOOKS, were you aware of her taking so many pictures?!

No...I wasn't

Look at this one, no shit sha you had GREAT hair, and since I now know your intimate bathing habits I know that there is NO conditioner in that and I officially hate you for it.

Ja-wer!! Put that away!

Addy, I found another one!

Sam why are you helping her!!

We've been waiting for YEARS for you to have someone, years! It's been building up!

Awww Daniel....

Can I leave while she does this?

Nope, otherwise you sleep on the couch and after a while that gets old.

Thanks Jack for your support.

Really, sha, these pictures are so sweet. Look at you...

I prefer not too...

Sam, can you give us a sec?

Jack, I need help with the turkey.

We're just joking Danny boy, get a grip...

Jack...

Fine Sam, I'm coming, sheesh.

Spill.

Spill what?

I'll put these away, there is teasing out of love and just being mean, but I'd like to know what I did so I don't hurt you again.

This just wasn't a good time for me. The program was new, it was amazing, but if something awful was going to happen to me it did. Everything awful that could have happened to me, did. It just brings back bad memories.

I'm sorry Daniel, I didn't know. I'll put them away.

You would have talked to him?

Who?

Dorky me?

Of course I would have, he makes this funny face like I do sometimes apparently when I'm really concentrating.

Even if you didn't know that I could give you anything? Provide you a way out, anything?

Daniel, sha, do you wanna take a walk? Let's go for a walk, go get a snack at the convenience store or something.

No, I'm ok.

I'll put them away. I just have this weakness.

And what's that?

You. Always you, always has been. You're trouble Daniel Jackson, major trouble.

*smiles*

I love you.

*goes and sits in his lap*

I love you too, nerd boy.

You have NO room to talk *cuddles and kisses her and laughs*

What's so funny?

When we see your aunt again? I'm gonna ask her for embarrassing pictures.

Tchew, I need to get Nicholas up...

*lets her go and smiles, looking back down at pictures*

Tears

He sat up in bed, yet again, his heart racing, tears streaking down his face. Why his mind insisted on making him watch it over and over again, so many years after he thought he was over it he would never know, but there is was again, larger than life. The vision of her lying there, looking at him, whispering I love you right as she left this existence, was still playing in his head, stuck on repeat. He hated being so emotional but he just couldn't help it; it was one of the worst memories in his life and the second time he had watched someone that he loved died, while he was simply helpless. His heart ached, his whole body ached, and he stood from his hard on base bed, not bothering to slip on boots or change clothes, heading for his door.

The corridors were dim this late at night, but it didn't matter, no one would question his past midnight  trek through the halls, regardless of his emotional state. Sure, someone might call Sam and report that Dr. Jackson appeared to be upset and wandering, but he didn't care about that right now as he trembled, wiping his face, willing the nightmare away.

His destination lay dead ahead, the keypad blinking, and he didn't need to think about what he was typing in before he put digits to buttons, this code was now nearly as automatic as his own. The light flashed green and he pushed the door open, escaping one possible embarrassment as he realized he was inserting himself into another.

"Ad?" he asked, no turning back now, deciding then and there that if she was asleep that he would just sit at her desk until he could get himself under control better.

"Indy," she was groggy but answered, which meant that she hadn't fallen asleep yet, "everything ok?"

And then he lost it. No, he wanted to say, it's not ok, nothing's ok, my life is a mess and I'm alone, friends or not I'm alone, but not a single word crossed his lips as the tears cascaded down his face.

"Daniel, oh my gawd," and he saw her crawl to her knees, started to exit her bed, her arms extended. He didn't let her leave, racing toward them, his comfort zone, he had let her become his comfort zone, this strange woman that had just appeared in his life. He felt her arms close around him, pulling him onto the bed, holding him to her, her cheek to the top of his head.

"Wha 'appened?" she didn't judge, she didn't mock, just held him, her tone caring though accented heavily by the lateness of the hour. He couldn't answer her then either, another horrible idea crossing his mind, that this friend, this confidant that he had come to rely on would be ripped away her, the faces of all of the loved ones in his memories being replaced with that of his best friend, who, at this moment, was running her fingers gently through his hair.

"You donna 'ave ta tell me, but ya can if ya need," she whispered, kissing his temple softly, holding him closer. How do you tell someone that for everything wonderful that you have seen in your life, that there is a limit to how much loss that you can take. He could tell her, he could tell her everything right now and she would listen, listen like no one else had, like one person in particular never had and that's why he was here now, with Adrienne and not there.

He sniffed in, beginning to pull away as his heart raced, Jack's words running through his head.

Could he love her? Was that why sadness compelled him here, in the middle of the night, in his pajamas and no shoes, automatically crawling into the safety of her embrace without hesitation.

"No, you're gonna stay righ 'ere," and she was reaching out for him pulling him to her, beside her in the bed, holding him close to her chest, another quick kiss at his head, "Go to sleep shug. I'm righ 'ere, k?"

Sniffing in, he laid his head on the pillow, the back of his skull resting on her shoulder and he could tell that she had adjusted herself just to hold him. He started to protest and apologize but the tears started again, why this time he wasn't sure, but he just didn't seem to be able to control them.

"It's ok," she whispered in his ear, "let it out. I'm not going anywhere and I'm not gonna tell a soul."

He nodded so she would at least know that he heard, instinctively cuddling back into her.

"You're safe," she added just in case he could tell since she still did not know the cause of any of this, "it's just you and me ok, nothin' else is 'ere."

Just you and me...

Closing his eyes, he focused on where he was, right now, and let himself drift off to sleep.

Daniel & Addy possible side thought

Maybe a side story or just a dream... (I have a cuddle problem)

Daniel slipped into Adrienne's room, seeing that she was making the bed.

"Hey shug?" she said over her shoulder with a smile, "how's it going?"

"Tired, cranky, if I have another cup of coffee I might explode..." he moaned, tossing his bag onto the floor and flopping on the bed.

"I was making that."

"Which I never understand because you only make it before you get right back in it," he teased, tossing a pillow in her direction.

Adrienne frowned.

"You need a girlfriend, so you can go bother her and leave me alone," she said with a smile, reaching for the pillow on the floor and tossing it back.

"Are you really headed to bed; it's only ten," Daniel questioned as he sat up, Adrienne sighing.

"Yeah, I've got an IOA meeting that YOU," she stressed the word, "weaseled out of and I need to be caffeinated and coherent by the time they make me actually speak."

"I didn't weasel..."

"Uh, what are YOU doing tomorrow Dr. Jackson?" she asked, halting her chore.

"Sam & I have to go through the gate codes and make this month's check in list of our allies."

"And Walter can't do this with her because..."

Daniel started laughing.

"Because I hate IOA meetings," he choked out, Adrienne slamming him with a pillow.

"Weasel..."

"Nope," he chuckled, kicking off his shoes, "genius."

She rolled her eyes, trying to adjust everything around him, giving up and heading to her dresser for pajamas. Grabbing a t-shirt and pants she head for the bathroom, a throat clearing behind her.

"Jokes aside shug," she said with a small smile, "I gotta hit the hay."

"No," he shook his head, serious, sitting up from the bed, "I just, well, I needed to talk to you."

"About?" she stopped to lean again the doorframe.

"Last night," he said quietly, Adrienne confused.

"What about last night?"

Daniel didn't answer at first, pushing his glasses up his face and fumbling with his hands for a moment, finally peering up at her.

"When I slept here, after the movie..." he started slow, Adrienne still looking thoroughly puzzled, "well I woke up to go to the bathroom, and, well, you were..."

"Please don't say snoring," her accent slipped, her pale cheeks flushing, "dammit I don't wanna have to go back on allergy meds."

"No, you weren't snoring, not any more than usual anyway," he said quickly, holding up his hands in case she wanted to deck him again, "you had your..."

"What shug?"

"Your arm wrapped around me," he spat out.

"Oh..." she whispered, dark eyes cast down to the floor, "sorry..."

"No, it's alright," he corrected quickly, "I didn't mind, I mean, I just..."

"You just what?" she asked as he frowned.

I just wanted to tell you that I love you but apparently that's not gonna happen right now dammit Daniel, he thought, taking a breath.

"Nothing, I just didn't want you to wake up and see me awake and you were doing it and think I was trying something because I wouldn't and then be angry with me over something that is entirely accidental..."

"But it's not," she said finally looking up, "it's not accidental."

"It's not?"

Please tell me you love me Ad, please...

"No," she clarified, "I get cold and you're warm and," she stammered for a moment herself, "you make me feel safe. But I won't do it again, sorry..."

I make her feel safe??

She turned to go back to the bathroom, Daniel at his feet, racing over to catch her before she could escape.

"No, it's ok, I just didn't want you to be mad at me," he said quickly.

"Why would I be?"

Daniel made a face, hoping she didn't need him to explain.

"I'm just sorry I made you feel uncomfortable," she added, turning, Daniel reaching out to catch her arm.

"You didn't," he whispered, "I..."

I love when you hold me...

"You what?"

"I don't mind, I know how cold you get," and once again he didn't say a word, like an idiot.

She smiled softly, eyes at the floor again.

"You staying? Tonight?" she asked before leaving.

"Not if you need to go to sleep..."

"But I'm cold..."

Is that a signal?

Yes you moron that's a signal, this is why Jack's says you're dense.

"Ok, I'll got get my stuff," he replied, dashing back to his quarters, Adrienne smiling brightly.

#33.5

Daniel Jackson had learned that a person does stupid things when they are in love, very very stupid things, even if the object of one's affection was just a pipe dream.

Today was one of those times.

When he found Adrienne in the lab, face to keyboard, snoring away, that woman really could sleep anywhere, he didn't take a picture this time, instead reaching to shake her gently out of concern.

"Ad?" he asked, his assistant rubbing her face as she sat up.

"What time is it?"

"Nine," he answered softly, resisting the urge to reach out for her. He was really gonna have to get this under control, they couldn't be, why did he think they could ever be, "why are you here?"

"I came down because I couldn't sleep, I wanted to work late," she was rubbing her face again, sighing, "my gah dam schedule is so gah damn messed up, and da gah damn apartment…"

Daniel frowned. He hadn't heard anything about a problem at her apartment but maybe she hadn't wanted to bother him, she would do that sometimes. It was classic Adrienne behavior, worry about everything else but herself and let her own problems go by the wayside.

"What about the apartment?"

Adrienne looked to the floor; clearly this was something she hadn't wanted to share.

"There was a break in…"

Daniel's heart sank. If there was a break in Adrienne wouldn't be anywhere near the place, which explained why she was staying on base and even though base was secure she would be having nightmares and not sleeping which is why she would be here working.

"When did you sleep last?"

"I don't know."

Daniel pursed his lips. She wasn't lying at least, and he stood there, watching her tired dark eyes as they gazed at him, glancing again at the floor in embarrassment.

"Get your things," he decided. No matter how he felt about her, he couldn't just let her continue like this and loving her made it that much more of a personal imperative to take care of her. After all, she dropped everything, without hesitation for him and she always had; it was the least he could do.

"It's nine in the morning…"

"And you can't tell me when you last slept," he argued right back, "there's nothing pressing…"

"Daniel, Anubis, but - "

He clamped his hand over her mouth.

"No, stop, now."

"You're not my keeper," she protested, moving his hand away.

"No, but you're mine, and I can't afford to not have you at 100%."

She looked down to the floor again. He knew she was gonna give in, he knew everything, he just didn't know what to say to her yet. I love you is what he wanted to say, I love you and I can't watch you torture yourself anymore.

"My duffel's back in my quarters," she said quietly.

"Get it," he ordered gently, "and then meet me in the parking lot. We'll go back to my house and just hang out, ok?"

"Ok," Adrienne was quiet leaving the lab without a further word.

Daniel's heart raced as he watched her go. She's going to spend the day, two days, three days alone in his apartment? They done this before but it was different now, different because Daniel knew that he was in love with her and he knew based on her actions that she was probably in love with him.  She'd been so quiet since the day that they repeated over and over. They'd had fun after, watching movies like everything was normal, none of the tension he had felt since she told him her secret, but she'd been so quiet. There had been a point though, when they were watching the Lord of the Rings that she started to snuggle near to him as if it was normal, making him wonder what happened during those repeated days, before racing back to the other side of her bed.  He'd slept in her room that night too, waking up with her arm wrapped around his waist tightly, a fact that he never told her.

She got her things but didn't go to the parking lot, returning to the lab instead, the dark circles under her eyes standing out more the fluorescent light of the hallway. Daniel shook his head, worried sick, reaching out for the bag to take it.

"We don't have to go…" she protested again.

"I want you to sleep," he countered.

"Why are you so worried?"

Because I love you Adrienne.

"I'm allowed to worry," he said instead.

"I guess so," and she was quiet again.

The drive to his apartment was quiet, Adrienne again not saying a word. He didn't understand why she was embarrassed by this, hurt yet, scarred, he knew from personal experience, but it wasn't as if she had gone out of her way to have this happen to her. He just wanted to fix it but he couldn't and that hurt him as much as the look on her face. When they arrived at the door she was at the elevator before he could even get her stuff out of the jeep, in silence, charging into this apartment once he slipped the key into the lock, heading straight for sofa.

"Go get the bed," he ordered, sternly, pointing.

"I'm fine here really."

"I know you won't sleep here as well as in my bed," he said it in such as way that he hoped she would tease, he wanted her to tease, please make an Adrienne joke but she didn't, dragging herself to the bedroom.

"I've got to get you better again," he mumbled as he let her go. His heart was in his throat; he wanted so badly to go back there, kiss her, hold her, take her in his arms and nuzzle close and tell her that everything would be fine…

"Stop," he spat out, heading for his small dining room table, "just get to work and let her rest."

*****

She screamed out at noon.

It terrified Daniel and for a moment he sat in the chair unsure as to what he should do. It was the break in, her mind was creating a scenario where she was being attacked again. He felt guilt suddenly at his hesitation and he was dashing into his bedroom, his best friend sitting up in the bed crying, his t-shirt large on her.

"I'm sorry Daniel," she stammered wiping away tears, "I swear this doesn't happen, I've come to peace with it it's just that," she cried more, Daniel crawling in the bed right beside her.

"Don't beat yourself up," he whispered, "you're allowed to feel this way."

"It's just being here in DC, I don't know, I just don't feel safe with everything and…"

"I know," Daniel said, "on the verge of telling her what had happened to him, but refrained. It would make her worry about him and while that would make her forget her own concerns it wouldn't be what she needed.

"I guess sometimes I just don't feel safe."

"Do you feel safe now?" he asked, reaching out his hand.

Adrienne nodded.

"Then lay down, get some sleep," he said, squeezing hers lightly.

"But I'm not sick, I have no reason to be in here, be here at all, we've got work to do," she protested but Daniel just shook his head.

Hold her, kiss her, this was a bad idea…

"You can't even keep your head up Ad, your eyes are puffy, rest, for me?"

Because I love you and I am so worried.

She sniffed in, allergies maybe, laying back down. His mind already back on where he left of, Daniel started to leave her when he felt a hand at his wrist, turning to see Adrienne was preventing him from leaving.

"Will you stay?"

"In here?"

She nodded again.

"Ok, if it'll get you to sleep…" he agreed, sitting down again. Taking a deep breath, Adrienne laid down, curling onto her side, shaking.

He couldn't take it, he didn't care, so what if he couldn't tell her how he felt, so what if he could never say a word lest she be taken away from him, he could love her and care for her right now. Kicking off his shoes he crawled in beside her, scooting under the covers and taking her into his arms.

"Daniel, what are you doing?"

"Making you feel safe," he whispered, he was crossing a line, he knew it, but she was starting to calm, "at least I hope I am."

"You are."

He'd hoped she'd turn around and cuddle into him, but she didn't, yet she lay there in his arms, letting him hold her.

"Go to sleep, nothing's gonna get in here, I promise," he whispered in her ear, kissing it and freezing.

Shit, he kissed her…

But she didn't say a word, her hand on his as he listened to her breathing slow, Adrienne falling dead asleep.

*****

When Daniel awoke he wasn't quite sure what was going on, the haze of sleep

Text Messages

I am doing NANO this month but I keep getting these little ideas in my head. Hope you guys are enjoying them!

You up?

Yeah shug, that's why the little green light is on…

Come on, I'm using one of YOUR methods of communication, can you work with me here?

Just teasin' … my aren't we touchy. What's up Indy?

My head hurts, I don't wanna translate anymore tonight but I don't want to go to bed.

Come here.

That requires driving.

No, that requires an elevator.

Wait? You're on base?

Yeah. It's cold and raining. I ran the track, showered and was too lazy to go home.

Glad you can admit that, usually you just blame me.

And with a few strokes of the keyboard Daniel has lost his invite to hang out in my room.

I know your codes.

I can change them.

Never underestimate my knowledge of Alexander Skarsgard; I know he's your weakness.

Well, I'm folding some laundry then crawling into bed, you're welcome to join me.

Hang on.

You ok?

Wanna take a picture of this conversation to send to Vala, with you inviting me to bed and all…

Bye Daniel.

I'm joking! Sorry, just bored and, well, just bored.

Ok, well, I want to relax so I am shutting this lid. If you want to join me, I am here. If you don't fine.

No, no I do. I need to shut down here and go to my room and grab some things but I'll be down.

What kind of things?

Clothes…

This is why people think we're sleeping together shug.

And yet you don't want me to send this conversation to Vala.

I love being used to make your girlfriend jealous.

I don't have a girlfriend. I have you. You are pain enough ;).

He uses emoticons, impressive. I'm going to finish this ok, see you soon?

In about fifteen or twenty minutes.

See ya soon shug.

Ad? You still there?

Yeah, what's up.

Thanks for letting me crash there so much.

:) I can't lie. I like having you around. A lot.

Be there soon.

Dialog, it's coming to fast for the rest:

Sam: What's going on down there?

Jack: That little girl you hired has destroyed Daniel…

Sam: *giggles* It's cute.

Jack: Uh huh, so are baby lions. And they will kill you…

Sam: Stop it, leave them alone.

Jack: Fine. Have it your way but mark my words, at some point he's gonna come slinking into your office whining about falling in love with her or some shit and I'm gonna be standing right there telling you I told you so and you let Miss Redneck Teen USA ruin one of my friends.

*****

Addy: You've NEVER heard this before??

Daniel: *shrugs* No….

Addy: Where WERE you in the 90's?

Daniel: Specifically or intellectually? Either way, it had nothing to do with MC Hammer.

Addy: You're no fun.

Daniel: I'm letting it play, aren't I?

Addy: But you're not dancing…

Daniel: I don't dance.

Addy: Why not?

Daniel: I just don't.

Addy: Ever?

Daniel: Never.

Addy: Not at prom?

Daniel: Didn't go, graduated early remember?

Addy: Stop using that as an excuse. I did too shug and I still went. With an OLDER boy too…

Daniel: I would expect nothing less.

Addy: No more excuses, dance handsome.

Daniel: No…

Addy: Please, I'll shut off the cameras. We have to finish this merde and if I can't run then I need to dance.

Daniel: Then YOU dance, I'll sit right here and keep working.

Addy: You're no fun. This is why Vala wants nothing to do with you.

Daniel: Nice try. Won't work. Stop poking the bear.

Addy: Whatever, die single, see if I care.

Daniel: Like you have room to talk…

Addy: Excuse me sir?

Daniel: It's a Friday and where are you?

Addy: We have a schedule to keep.

Daniel: Which I can handle one night alone.

Addy: But then who is gonna put you to bed when you fall asleep on the keyboard?

Daniel: Satterfield.

Addy: I hate you so much.

Daniel: See, I can poke the bear too. *smiles* Just for your information if I were to just casually mention to Cam that you were interested in dating, I'd have to put up one of those little ticket things like at the deli.

Addy: I'm not sure whether to laugh or smack you.

Daniel: That was a compliment. I have one or two groupies. Half the male contingent of the base would kill to get a night out with you.

Addy: Well, thank you, but I need to add teaching Daniel to give a girl a real compliment to my list.

Daniel: List?

Addy: List of things we need to fix.

Daniel: Do I even wanna know?

Addy: I'm happy to share. It's not complicated. I got you to drink, so that's taken care of.

Daniel: I've drunk before. A lot.

Addy: Whatever. Lighten up, dance, stop working so much, watch a movie for fun, learn the importance of Star Wars and the lessons it can offer a person in life.

Daniel: Teal'c and Jack tried that one.

Addy: And I'm sure their approach was so academic.

Daniel: So why do I need so much fixing? I thought we were friends because you appreciated my quirks…

Addy: *looks down* I dunno. It's just sometimes you seem so happy and other times…

Daniel: I am *pauses* happy. More lately.

Addy: I just think you deserve to be is all. Sorry…

Daniel: *stands, walks over and turns music full blast* SHUT OFF THE CAMERA!!!

Addy: *smiles* REALLY???

Daniel: IF YOU TELL ANYONE I WILL NEVER SPEAK TO YOU AGAIN!!!

Addy: *giggles*

Just can't tell you yet

It was late by the time Adrienne made it back to her room, throwing off her SG jacket and tossing it to the floor, shedding other pieces of clothing as she made her way to the bathroom. She was exhausted, Rodney had kept her far later than she liked but she didn't mind helping him out when he was being nice. It's still kept her up late, really late, without any real good company.

She brushed her teeth without bothering to turn the light on rinsing out her mouth and staring into the mirror in the darkness to see if maybe she had any zits pop up from the stress of listening to Rodney talk about himself. That's why he was in a good mood tonight, she thought, he was talking about himself. Rubbing her face and tossing her toothbrush back into the cup Dr. Adrienne Rowan stripped off the remainder of her clothes walking over to her dresser.

She didn't bother with underwear pulling on a tank top and a baggy pair of shorts from the top drawer not a concern as to whether or not they matched, walking over to her bed and pulling back the covers slipping underneath their warmth.

Wait, she thought, it's warm in here; my electric blanket is on.

How did my electric blanket get turned on?

Reaching quickly for her nightstand Adrienne clicked on the light, turning over to see that she wasn't alone.

"I swear fah gah, ya gotta be kidding me?!" she spat out, Daniel rolling over rubbing his face and looking at her.

"Hey you're back. What time is it?"

"Two in da mornin', " she tried to enunciate because her accent was about to explode, "what in da 'ell are you doin' here?!?"

Frowning, Daniel muttered,  "It's cold on my floor and I like this blanket."

Adrienne was pretty sure her jaw dropped.

"Seriously Daniel?!"

"Yeah," he said, cuddling back down into the covers, "is that a problem? I crash here all the time."

"Which is why everyone thinks that we're sleeping together!!"

"We are," he said with a chuckle, rolling back over.

Adrienne slammed him with the pillow.

"I'll leave…" he said, peeling back the blanket and sitting, Adrienne pushing him back down.

"Is the heat out? On your floor I mean?"

"Is it bad that I was just freezing and too lazy to check?"

She sighed, rubbing her face in her hands.

"You're a pain in my ass ya know that?" she asked jokingly, grabbing his arm and shaking it, "you can stay just switch, okay?"

"Oh right, the door," and he was up, doing as she asked, shivering as his feet touched the cold floor.

"Are you feeling well?" she asked as she got it, noting his quiver.

"Yeah, just cold for some reason," he answered, not lying, but he was unusually cold tonight and coming here was just what felt natural to do. She nodded, crawling over to the wall, sliding underneath the warm blanket, into the warm place he had created.

"And I've taken your spot," she teased, although she did feel slightly guilty, "sorry shug."

"It's ok, I had the blanket spread over the whole bed," he said as he shut out the light, hunkering down beside her. Smiling though he couldn't see, Adrienne turned on her side, facing the wall, her back leaning against his.

"Night Daniel."

"Night."

She closed her eyes, grateful that she could sleep a few hours later tomorrow because Daniel knew she would be working late…

"Ad?"

"Yea," she answered groggily.

"Why don't you like sleeping by the door? I mean you have to when I'm not here, but is there a reason you'd like to talk about?"

Adrienne shivered.

"No, I don't."

She felt Daniel adjust behind her, hearing his voice closer.

"I'm sorry," he must have noted her tone, "I shouldn't have asked."

"No, it was an honest question, shows you care. Don't be sorry," she whispered barely, a hand at her shoulder.

"I do, that's why I asked, but I'm sorry I brought it up."

She wanted to reply, tell him she was fine, but the memory hit her and she shook harder this time.

"Ad?"

"I'm ok Indy, go to sleep."

"No," he was moving again, "you're not."

She didn't reply because he was right; she wasn't.

"Adrienne, you're shaking…"

"No, I'm not," she argued, weakly, when she felt movement at her waist, an arm, slipping around her and pulling her close.

"Yes, you are. I'm sorry. I won't bring it up again."

"I'm not mad."

"I know."

"It's just something I don't like to talk about."

"And if you ever do, I'll listen," he whispered softly, "it's only fair after all of the whining I do."

She giggled at his joke.

"Glad you can admit you whine."

"You tell Jack I said that and I'll never sit through Monty Python again. Ever."

She laughed a second time.

"Deal."

She thought he'd move, roll back over, but he didn't, just lay there so close, holding her. This was why Vala harassed her so much, this probably wasn't normal friend behavior but then again, she'd never had a friend as close as Daniel.

"Indy?" she asked into the dark, deciding to tell him, after all, wouldn't it feel good to tell someone.

"Yea?"

But then she couldn't.

"Ad?"

"Do I get a kiss goodnight too?" she joked instead, Daniel shoving her playfully.

"Fine, see if I try to be caring with you again. I have a limit Ad, and you are dangerously close."

She laughed.

"I'm just teasing shug, but," she paused, "don't feel bad. Okay?"

"Alright, can I go back to sleep now. This side of the bed is finally warm."

"Goodnight. For real."

"Night," and he was back to back with her again, a small part of her sad he was no longer snuggled into her.

Stupid Vala, Adrienne thought, shivering again at a memory she would forever try to forget when she felt a hand at her, holding it, squeezing it and with the comfort of that gesture allowed herself to fall asleep.

Some people need taking care of too

"Hey you're up…" Adrienne peeked up from her kitchen counter to see Daniel lumbering in, hair a mess, no glasses, rubbing his face.

"Yeah just a little sore is all," he grumbled, taking a seat on her bar stools, setting his hands into his face.

"That was a bad fall you took Indy, no joke."

"Yeah, but you didn't have to bring me here. I appreciate it but I would have been fine," he said peeking up, a slight smile on his face.

He didn't mean it, she knew.

"No you didn't have to come here, but you did, so you must have wanted to come here and be taken care of. Admit it shut, you LIKE having me around."

Daniel's cheeks reddened.

"Now that you're upright, I made you some breakfast. Now, I don't have waffles but I did have a toaster strudel," she said, pointing to the toaster oven which she started when she heard him coming down the hall.

He looked up, confused.

"Adrienne goddess of health Rowan has toaster strudels?"

"Ya wanna eat smartass? Ya other option is saltines and low fat cheese spread."

"Strudel," he said, letting his head fall back onto the counter.

"Go back to bed, I'll bring it in."

"I need to get out of bed…"

"Uh huh. Look, Carolyn said that it wasn't a concussion, but you have muscle strain and bruising and need to relax and heal. I will bring you breakfast."

"In bed?" he looked up smiling again.

"Yes, and coffee too."

"You realize that it's your bed?"

"Yes, and ya bedda nah get a crumb on da sheets," she said, walking over to start the coffee.

Laughing, and flinching because he seemed to hurt, Daniel stood, walking over to the fridge, reaching for his phone.

"What are you doing shug?"

"Texting Vala," he chuckled, "to tell her that you are serving me breakfast in your bed after I slept there."

Adrienne frowned.

"I'm kidding, gonna call Jack and see what we're missing that's all. I leave the harassment of Vala to you," he said, slipping the phone to his ear.

"No need. SG-4 came back this morning, empty handed, place seems to be abandoned. I've got the MALP pics from the last two planets, nothing, I've already gone through and I stayed up after you were asleep last night to get us up to speed on the database schedule. You're dry cleaning has been picked up, it's waiting in your office and I've rescheduled your lecture with the cadets until next week. All ou need to do is march ya tchew right down that hallway, get back under those covers and wait until your breakfast is ready."

Frowning, he let the phone drop from his ear.

"Yes mother," he shot, a sly smile across his face as he did as she asked. Shaking her head, she walked back over to the coffee machine, pulling the fresh pot from it's base.

"You know you love me shug," she chuckled quietly, "you'd die without me."

"Pretty much!!"

Redness flew into her cheeks at his reply to her unintentional remark as she poured the coffee, trying to push crazy ideas out of her head.

Daniel & Adrienne ficlet - kissing

Dialogue only you fill in the rest :)

Hey Indy! How was your meeting? *smack*

I love that..

Love what?

The kissing.

In general or right now?

Both.

Ok...

No it's just you go for so long never expecting that'll never be your life and then it is your life and you start to take it for granted but sometimes you stop and realize that it could be another way, it could be completely different and it's just nice have someone come back home or here or whatever and give you a kiss.

Are you feeling okay Sha?

Yes, I'm fine, I just, never mind I'm just making a point.

Okay well if you're alright I got to get these things done for Radek before dinner okay?

Okay.

...

Daniel?

Yeah?

I like it too...

What?

The kissing.

In general or right now?

Both...

*chair moves*

*boots on floor*

*sits in lap and  kisses him again*

Daniel & Addy - The Weirdest Places

"Ad pass me that please."
...

"No, that one."

"It's the same thing."

"No it's not, this does the job in less steps."

*grumbles*

"Don't roll your eyes at me, you're always telling me I need to be more efficient Dr. Rowan."

"That's not what I meant."

"Uh huh, so about those photos..."

"Yeah, so, I don't care what Vala says, it's just chicken scratch. If it's letters sure, kids maybe, but it says nothing."

"Should we go?"

"Do you wanna go?"

"I guess, it's worth checking out. OW!"

"What?"

"Can we switch, or do I just get to stand back here and admire the view?"

"I don't think you really can like that..."

"Smartass, move."

*giggles*

"Yeah, let's go, who do you wanna take?"

"Vala, it's her nonsense, and we can take your boyfriend."

"Cute sha, very cute...which one?"

*frowns*

"It doesn't look at serious when you do it in here."

"As if you really took it seriously before."

"Not really." *giggles* "Move, my turn."

"When we do this it always seems to be your turn..."

"You don't have to come."

"I WANT to come. Remember, view and all?"

"So, tchew, Vala, and who else?"

"Dex, that way she will only be half annoying us."

"You are all over this Ronon thing, aren't you."

"Yeah. She's like a raccoon. I'm going to distract her with shiny objects."

"You think Ronon is shiny?"

"Please don't say things like that in here."

"Pass me that."

"What?"

"The one behind you, the correct one if you take the proper steps to personal hygiene."

"Or the less efficient way of doing this..."

"You realize that my way takes longer right? View and all."

....

"That's what I thought. So, Vala, Ronon and you and me? Sounds like a romantic weekend get-a-way."

"Oh god."

"Oh god what?"

"What if they are together and we have to hear..."

"Eww, no, happy thoughts. Hand me the pink bottle up there. Let's talk about happy things..."

"Ad?"

"Yeah Indy."

"Have you ever stopped to think about the fact that normal couples have sex in the shower and don't discuss work?"

"Oh, were we supposed to be having sex?"

"Not necessarily, I mean, the thought did cross my mind when you said do you wanna get in..."

"We were in mid conversation and I needed to shower, I thought that it would be rude to cut you off."

*chuckles*

"Stupid gawd damn tchew!"

*bottle drop*

*slam*

"Ja-wer it was your....i...dee...ahhhhhh....."

All nighter - A ficlet as friends

A pink nightmare.

That as the best way to describe it, his assistant was a pink nightmare.

It was 11 o’clock and here she was in the lab dancing around like no one was watching to so godawful music that if possible was getting progressively worse. Shot he had on pink pajama pants, a hot pink T-shirt, her brown hair in a ponytail covered with a hot pink bandanna the music blasting out of her headphones might as well having been pink too. Archaeologists don’t behave like this way, was his first thought still unable to believe that this woman held the degrees she did.

Or that he liked her, because he was really starting to like her.

Their little camping trip had really been the turning point for him, he could talk to her like he had never been able to talk to anyone else before and it wasn’t until he thought he had lost her, until he thought she had died in something stupid like a gas leak that it had finally registered that this woman was special. Truth be told he’d gone to her room first, knocking and getting no answer, knowing for certain that she wouldn’t be asleep at eleven at night. She only seemed to do that when they watched movies together, once falling asleep on his shoulder in front of everyone. That had only been slightly less awkward than when she fell asleep, adjusting in such a way that she had fallen right into his lap, her head thankfully hanging over his leg.

“Hey Indy? Everything ok?” she asked, pulling headphones from her ears, setting down the pictures she had been examining.

“Yeah,” he replied, shaking his head, “just can’t sleep.”

“Me neither, there’s too much I wanted to do...”

“Like?” he asked, debating the coffee machine.

“Like enough where I could use a cup if you’re offering,” she said with a smile, “Ya game for an all nighter?”

“Depends...” he was grinning, he knew he was, and he didn't care. Adrienne made all nighters fun.

“Well we gots ‘bout five MALPS wortha merde ta sort through, well I do, because now I get ta front everyting fa ya,” she let her accent explode, intentionally he could tell just to goof with him.

Of course he wanted to stay; Adrienne made all nighters fun.

"I've got a meeting in the morning," and he did, she would know he did, she, after all, kept his schedule.

"It's at 10," she noted as she leaned back against the table, "stay up till 7, crazy power naps and then bammo, like we never did this."

"Power nap?"

"Yeah, you never did that in grad school???"

He smiled, chuckling slightly.

"Of course not..."

"Lyin' tchew..."

"Fine," he relented, standing to make his way to the coffee maker, "IF you think you can handle it..."

"Bring it Indy," she said with a grin, hands on her hips.

*****

His neck hurt. And his cheek, his back, pretty much his entire body was throbbing in pain.

"Oww..." he grumbled, peeking through his lids to see the black surface, the top of his center table.

He'd fallen asleep in the lab.

"Ad?" he asked, trying to sit up, realizing that he couldn't move, that he was pinned to the table. He shoved his glasses the best that he could, peering to his right to see the cause of his plight.

It was a pink nightmare.

Bandana pulled over her eyes, or fallen, either way he couldn't tell, Adrienne was laying on his back, her left arm wrapped around him, her right interwoven with his.

Oh dear lord.

"Ad, wake up, get up, we fell asleep..." he was panicked, there were cameras, why was she attached to him like that, why wouldn't she wake up.

"Five more minutes..."

"Adrienne, get up!" he was pushing her away frantically but she wasn't moving, still asleep, even a little drool coming out of her mouth. Grumbling he shook his head, moving his assistant upright and it worked just a few seconds until she fell forward, right into his lap, her head not on his leg.

"Ad!!"

"What?" she whined, rubbing her face downward, Daniel grabbing her clueless head and pulling up upright.

"Ow! Let go of my head!"

"Then can you get it out of my crotch!" he snapped without thinking, poor Southern Adrienne bolting upright.

"Oh maw gawd, Indee I'mmma so sorry, Imma, lwad, we mussa fallen asleep..."

She was panicked, rambling, a billion cajun phrases pouring out of her mouth as she stood, pushing brown hair from her face, the bandana hitting the floor.

"I 'ad NAW idea Indee I swear!!"

Shaking his head, she hadn't, the woman slept like the dead, Daniel raised his hands, grabbing her shoulder gently.

"No, it's ok, it's fine, I just think, well," he peered over at the clock seeing it was nearly nine in the morning, the last time he remembered looking it was three..."I think we had our power nap..."

Adrienne blushed.

"I probably, should, get a shower," she muttered, a hand wiping drool from her mouth.

"Me too," Daniel choked out at he nodded.

"See ya at the meeting."

"Yeah. See ya."

Adrienne practically tripped over her own feet racing out of the door leaving Daniel standing there, licking his lip nervously, shoving his hands into his pockets.

What was that?

Sure, Adrienne seemed to be able to fall asleep standing up, but he wasn't as fortunate a sleeper and for her to be like that...

Shoving the thoughts aside, Daniel walked over to his desk, shutting the lid to his computer, leaving the files as they were.

Cleaning up - friendship story

I just get these little friendship moments that I think enhance the main arc.

Here's an old idea I found on my phone!

(This is before they realize they have fallen in love with each other but their friends are starting to notice things)

Adrienne figured that with the odd schedule she might as well stay on base, get some stuff done around here, maybe map out some future database research or work on her novel. She hated mid shift and for the life of her she didn't understand why, even with both she and Daniel on SG-1, in the world they and their teammates were subjected to the constant shuffling of hours. Working for the government as long as she had, she'd learned just to go with it; they were gonna do what they wanted to do anyway.

A sigh escaped her lips, the Cajun rubbing pale hands over and equally pale face, past dark eyes, finally peering at the basket.

She'd start with her bed.

Ripping off the covers, Adrienne tossed the linens onto her desk, pulling away the not as fresh fabric just as her door opened.

She didn't even need to look up.

"Well hello there..." she called out playfully, hearing him shutting the door behind her.

"You disappeared," Daniel accused, "I thought you were start the next section of the database."

Oops, she forgot to leave a note when he hadn't gotten back from his meeting and did just leave once she'd mapped out her to-do list.

"Sorry, shug. I was, but I actually got a headache staring at the screen so I decided to come down here and get started on my domestic to do list. How was your meeting?"

"Typical," he answered, "which is why I decided to walk around to cool off, see what everyone was doing, bother you..." he trailed, Adrienne feeling her cheeks flush.

She kinda adored him, a lot.

"I love how bother me is on your list of things to do to amuse yourself," she said over her shoulder, biting her lip, knowing her cheeks were flushing.

Vala is NOT right Addy.

Stop it.

"I was just gonna check and see what you were doing..." he led again. What in the hell did he want from her, an invitation?

Damn stupid Vala and her damn stupid ideas.

"What’s it look like I’m doing Indy?" she teased, unable not to with him, "I’m cleaning."

With that, she went back to her work, pulling the clean purple fitted sheet from her "washed" hamper. She'd just tossed it into the air to open it, bringing it down on the surface when there he was, right at her side, curious eyes examining the bed.

"What are these? It's not your usual."

He knows your usual sheets Addy; Vala's right...

"They’re t-shirt sheets," she answered, blowing off the second half of the statement.

"T-shirt sheets?" he inquired, curious, and Adrienne wasn't surprised. Guys, even less disgusting guys like Daniel usually just bought whatever sheets were on sale, that kinda matched, and took them home.

"Oh yes..they're sheets. Made out of t-shirt material," she explained with a bright smile, "Come touch them..."

She watched him frown, making that face of his, pushing his glasses up his nose before reaching out, running his hand over the surface.

And then his jaw dropped.

"Why did I not know these existed??"

Adrienne shrugged.

"You're a man?"

"And they’re cold!" he disregarded her answer, rubbing his hand over the surface.

"I know," she was beaming, pulling the corners down before racing to finish the other side, "aren’t they great!?!"

"I am definitely crashing here tonight, definitely," he declared, falling back onto them, SG jacket and all.

"Do you know how bad that sounds?" she couldn't resist, he was so funny right now, so...

Cute.

He was so cute right now.

GOD DAMMIT VALA!!

"Hush," he said, sitting up again to take off his boots, "it's not like one of us was gonna stay put all night. I think the odds of us watching a movie together on base are now officially higher than Teal'c saying indeed."

Because we're a god damn couple....

Addy you need to get a grip.

"Cooyon," she fussed, "get ya fool ass up. You help me make dis and den we can pick a movie."

He stood, laughing, Adrienne rushing to get her blankets, her stomach a mess of nerves.

Addying it

Dialogue Only

Inspired by the fact that I am not nor will I ever be Addy Rowan Jackson, if for only the reason that I am NOT a hacker.

But this little one WAS inspired by the bit of hacking I did tonight :D

To know why you are crawling around on the floor in your pajamas at midnight.

I'm installing a new router.

A what?

A router, you know, so I can have WiFi in here.

In your room?

Yes.

But we have it in the lab.

But I want it in my room.

Why?

So, I can watch TV in here that is not on a DVD. Why are you so damn nosey and why are you in my room at midnight in YOUR pajamas.

I can't sleep and didn't feel like working.

That's a first.

No, I thought you would know by now that I can't sleep.

That you didn't feel like working...

Vala told me she wanted to make me scream her name through the archaeology wing....

BAHAHAHAHA!!!

That's not funny.

Nope, it's not just funny, it's hilarious, dammit can ya hand me a paperclip from my desk?

Why do you need a paperclip?

To reset the router.

With a paperclip?

Yes.

Wow, that's some real advanced technology there...

Ya want me ta send ya back to Vala?

Getting the paperclip...

Thanks, now, come here.

On the floor?

No Indy, the ceiling. Yes the floor.

Ok...

Wait.

Do you need another paperclip?

Shut up. No, I need you to take off your shirt.

Why?

So I have something nice to look at while I do this.

(Daniel frowns)

Sorry, with Vala stalking you in the lab, probably sans underwear, I couldn't resist. I don't wanna see you naked ya coo yon, just get down here and help me.

Ok, what do you need.

After I reset, I will unplug, turn back on the power and I need you to check connections behind me nad tell me how many little blinky lights there are while I configure the lap top.

I have an IQ in the 170s and you are reducing me to counting blinky lights?

Start counting Indy if ya wanna have something good to watch on my TV when you can't sleep or are trying to avoid being jumped by your harem of women.

Why do I subject myself to this torture?

Because you love me. Ready?

Zero blinky lights.

Smartass. Ok, give me as they come on.

One, that's one blinky light. Ha, ha, ha.

Shug, was that the Count?

Yes.

From Sesame Street.

Yeah...

Oh dear god...any more?

Two, that's two.

Stop Daniel, just stop, it's just, no, just don't..

Fine, there, no wait, four, but the fourth is orange.

That's fine (types...)

Five, ok, five, four green and one orange.

(Adrienne leaps to her feet)

I AM A GODDESS!!!!

What are you doing now?

Celebrating.

By dancing around like an idiot in the middle of the night?

Yep.

Great, you dance, I'm gonna take laptop and find something on TV.

You don't know how...

Then I suggest you come sit over here and show me or else I may delete background pictures of half naked Swedish men....

Coo yon....

Out of Character - The things we do in love

It was late, later than he had planned on working but Adrienne had this way of keeping him going even when he wanted to call it quits. Before, he'd just fall asleep at the keyboard, working himself to the bone, but then she'd dragged him to his bed and made him crash and now?

Now she dragged him to hers, and he didn't mind in the least.

His eyes were dry and he had forgotten to put drops in, sitting down in his desk chair rubbing his blue orb underneath of his glasses.

"Here take mine," she whispered passing a plastic bottle over to him which he took gratefully. She gave him just a moment, one drop in one eye and one in the other, Adrienne sitting down on his lap when he finished.

"My room?" she asked, knowing he had no itnetion of letting either of them drive so late.

"Sure," he replied softly, reaching to kiss her gently. They sat there in the lab, Daniel lips wandering all over his assistant's neck, the Cajun woman shivering in response.

"Stop.." she giggled, pushing him away.

"Stop what?" he teased.

"Stop making me shiver," she pecked his nose, "even though I love that you make me feel like that."

"I love that I can make you feel like that," and he did, watching her moan in ecstasy was almost as good as when the feeling itself hit him, pleasing her, torturing her, being with her like he had never wanted to be with anyone else. She started to stand to leave but he just wasn't ready to let her go, pulling her to face him and bringing their lips together again.

In the middle of the night, in their cold workspace, Daniel and Adrienne lets their mouths wander as if they were alone.

Which they were...

For a few minutes at least.

"Stop that you two," Daniel heard a familiar voice behind him, one that in the past might have made him jump, that he might have actually cared about, but at this moment not so much.

Adrienne didn't seem to care that much either.

"No," he broke their passionate kiss only enough to answer Vala, Adrienne laughing lightly as he held her firmly in place quickly returning to his task.

"It’s disgusting," she spat.

"Then leave," Daniel answered from Adrienne's mouth, a growl of discontent his reply.

"This is a public place," Vala noted, Adrienne pulling back this time to laugh.

'Whatcha need shug?" she asked, her friend waving a folder in the air.

"Sam said if you two were up, which I am pretty sure one of you is, could you take care of this before bed. Neither of you answered her calls and messages. Can't imagine why," she said, rolling her eyes. Red faced, he could tell Adrienne was tired because not only would he never normally act like this but she was the epitome of Southern prim and proper at times and sitting in his lap, still rubbing herself against him sneakily, dear god Vala LEAVE, was not normal for her either.

Shit Ad, don't get up...

"Put it over there," Adrienne requested, pointing to her own desk, adjusting again, intentionally in his lap, "we'll do it before bed."

"Uh huh," Vala retorted.

"I swear, on my Uncle Buddy's moonshine," she answered with a smile, "and that's some serious she we be talkin' 'bout."

Grumbling, something about being repulsive and acting like animals, Vala started to leave, Adrienne clearing her throat.

"Shug?" she asked out, Vala coming to a halt.

"What?"

"Can ya shut da door?" Adrienne, his, his lover, requested. He watched as Vala's jaw dropped, her chest heaving as she breathed in to say something, but the words just didn't come out. Huffing, she marched through the opening, slamming the door behind her.

"Thanks," he said, pushing Adrienne to get the folder and get to work so they could get to her room faster.

"Me first, folder after," she said with a grin, a hand over her shoulder, a remote, pointed at the cameras.

What the hell?

Daniel quickly forgot the folder as he felt fingers at his zipper...

Getting there - part 2

He was standing at his bookshelf, scanning, he knew he had left it somewhere when he heard his door open making him peer over his shoulder.

"I thought you had to work with Rodney tonight," he noted as Adrienne tossed her backpack onto the chair, powering straight for him.

"Yep, I did," and she was at him, reaching for his hips. Frowning, Daniel disregarded the books, turning to grab her shoulders and make sure she was ok.

"Not so good?" he asked, Adrienne's fingers at his waistband.

"Nope, it was great actually," and she had undone the top button, her fingers at his zipper.

What was she doing??

“Ad? I...”

“Less talk, more kissing, I’m getting over this...NOW.”

He didn’t need to be told twice, if she was ready, finally ready, he wasn’t about to stop her. Lips pressed against hers, he kissed her feverishly because he wanted the same, he wanted to whisk her away to his bed and make love to her so badly. Their tongues danced and he sucked in air as she reached into the front of his jeans, squeezing the swell that was growing there.

“Oh god...” he breathed out, it had been so long and couldn’t keep kissing her the way she was touching him. She was curious and experienced all at once, exploring tenderly as she giggled at his lips.

“I’m not flinching...”

“I see that...”

“Bedroom?” she asked, Daniel nodding quickly.

“Please...”

Smiling, she pulled her hand from where he didn’t want it to escape, skimming her fingers to his belt loop to lead him along, his heart pounding in his chest. This is happening, he thought, this is really happening, following, wanting nothing more than to hold her in his arms. She was there, they were there, so quickly, kissing, hands wandering, Daniel laying her back gently, his lips at her neck, Adrienne hissing in as she pushed his jeans down from his waist.

“Are you sure?” he asked as he reached her shirt, reaching for the hem to pull it from her head.

“Yeah,” and the look in her eyes seemed to support her words. Kissing her forehead lightly, Daniel pushed himself up, his left hand reaching for his nightstand drawer.

“What are you doing?” she asked, propping herself on her elbows. Raising his eyebrows, he bit his lip, flashing a small packet at her.

“We’re gonna need this and I’m not gonna wanna waste time searching for it,” he said, setting the condom on the nightstand as he reached to pull off his shirt. He was smiling as he tossed it aside, looking back down at her to see that she just...wasn’t...

“Ad,” he asked, sitting back on his knees, “you ok?”

“Yeah,” she lied, he would read her like a book, and she didn’t even need to draw her knees to her chest like she was starting to do.

“What did I do?” he asked worried, watching her eyes dart around, looking at everything but him.

Sighing, she reached over on the nightstand, taking the item into her fingers.

“Made it real,” she admitted slowly, “I can’t. The moment you...” she started to stammer, “I’ll freak out, I know it, I’ll just freak out.”

And then she started to cry.

Kicking the rest of his jeans to the floor, Daniel hopped up from the bed, walking around and crawling behind her, pulling her into his arms.

“Stop, Ad, just stop, it’s ok...”

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I told you that I couldn’t be what you wanted, I just...”

He held her, kissing her head, rocking her gently.

“You’re exactly what I want, everything I ever wanted.”

“But you have...”

Daniel shook his head, holding her impossibly closer.

“To be safe because I didn’t think we were ready to be parents yet, do you?”

Adrienne shook her head.

“But you aren’t ready,” he kissed her again, nuzzling her ear, “and that’s fine. Goes back in the drawer.”

She bit her lip, leaning back into him.

“I love you Daniel, I’m sorry,” she was trembling in his arms, “I just don’t know if I’ll ever...”

“Stop,” he whispered softly, “so you had a good evening?”

Adrienne nodded.

“What do you want for dinner?”

“I don’t care,” she muttered, Daniel reaching back for the nightstand. Dark ebony eyes watching him, he tossed the packet back into the drawer, closing it and grabbing his phone, bringing the gadget to his ear.

“Hi, I’d like to place an order for delivery,” he requested, not letting go of her for a moment, because regardless of anything that had just happened, right now, right at this second, he had all that he wanted.

The next morning

I have a thing with intimacy, so I hope this doesn't offend....

Adrienne leaned over the sink, peering into the mirror as Daniel entered in behind her.

“We don’t have anything until noon, since we just got back; did you want to go out and get real food for breakfast?” he asked. Adrienne shrugged turning around to see him pulling his boxer briefs downward slightly, turn his back to her and...

“What are you doing???”

“Peeing,” he answered like it was the most normal thing in the world.

“But I’m right here??!?!”

“So,” and he just kept on going.

She was gonna die.

“But, it’s not decent...”

“Really Ad, after last night,” he peered over his shoulder.

“That was different,” she shot quickly.

“How exactly?”

How is he not finished???

“It’s a bodily function.”

“And so is making love,” he answered, reaching to do exactly what Adrienne knew but turned her back to him nonetheless.

“But it’s different...”

“Again, how,” and he was pushing her out of the way with his hips, thankfully covered, reaching to wash his hands.

“It just is.”

“Alright, so just let me get this straight,” he said as he scrubbed laughing, “you’ve seen me naked, I’ve seen you naked, we’ve seen one another  - “

“Don’t say that word.”

“What word?”

“That word you were gonna say.”

Daniel laughed.

“How did you know what I was gonna say?”

“Never mind,” she grumbled, jumping up onto the counter. Chuckling, he dried his hands,  walking over and grabbing her knees, spreading her legs to slip between them.

“I won’t pee in front of you if it bothers you that badly,” he said, kissing her nose, “I’m just comfortable, even more so now. Is there anything else that I need to know bothers you?”

Adrienne blushed.

“I’m kinda scared about showering together,” she admitted.

“So, you think that last night just opened up the flood gates of everything. That once was a magic fix all?”

“No...”

He kissed her again softly.

“I didn’t think so,” he said as he reached behind her neck, touching their foreheads, “it’ll take time and we don’t have to do anything that you don’t want to do. Ever. I’m just honored that you trust me as much as you do.”

Adrienne looked away, embarrassed again for a moment before taking a breath, pushing Daniel away and hopping from the counter.

“Breakfast?” he asked again, walking for the door as she caught his hand.

“Sure, I just need a shower first,” she said, pulling the t-shirt over her head, “wanna join me?”

“Only if you want me to,” he answered cautiously.

“I do, just take it slow...”

Daniel smiled, reaching to grab two towels to toss on the counter before pulling his underwear to the floor.

“How about I just wash your hair?”

“Ok,” she nodded with a grin, pulling back the curtain to start the water.
